Why families train with us

A genuine line to Japan, and a safe floor for your kids

We are a directly affiliated member of WSKF Japan, part of a federation in more than 90 countries. Our standards and our training come straight from Japan, through our 9th Dan Chief Instructor Sensei Hitoshi Kasuya, who visits Perth to teach and grade our students.

That lineage matters. So does the floor your child stands on. Every WSKF Perth instructor holds a Working With Children clearance, current police clearances, and current Senior First Aid certification. We are a member of the Australia Karate Federation, the national governing body recognised by the federal government. All of our documentation is available to the public on request.

Kids Corner

Kids Corner: ages 6 to 13

We have a tried and tested junior syllabus for kids aged 6 to 13. It is built to improve, motivate and nurture children so they grow physically and mentally prepared to defend themselves and others. Our classes keep the fun in training, with games that run alongside the karate.

Our heritage

Founded on a clear principle, in 1990

WSKF Perth carries the founding declaration of the World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation, made on 1 June 1990: to reject all forms of prejudice and discrimination, to hold no position on religion or politics, and to seek the growth of World Shotokan in friendship and understanding between all people. We are a genuine group of clubs working to develop perfection of character in our students.
